<p><b><font color="Black"> 
 <p><b>DENNIS S. SILVER<br />

<b>Dennis S. Silver of Sarasota died Feb. 15, 2009 after complications from cancer.</b></p>      
<p><b>Known for his sense of humor, love of photography, and his active social life, Dennis practiced law in Sarasota for 34 years, retiring in 2004. A graduate of USF and FSU, he was a member of the Florida and Sarasota County Bar, Lions Club, Sertoma Club, the Hearing Loss Association of Sarasota, the Florida West Coast Avian Society and the ACLU. </b></p>        
<p><b>Dennis volunteered extensively for the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, the All Faiths Food Bank and Community Youth Development. Dennis was also an associate member of the Sarasota Democratic Executive Committee. He worked hard on Barack Obama's election campaign and said his "life was complete" in seeing Obama elected.</b></p>  
<p><b>Dennis was a former officer and board member of Temple Emanu-El and a former charter officer and board member of Temple Sinai. </b></p>  
<p><b>Dennis is survived by his son, Daniel, his daughter, Valerie, and his brother, Wayne. </b></p>  
<p><b>A "celebration of life" party for Dennis was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 in Sarasota.  </b></p>
