MetLife

I guess I've been doing what everyone else has been doing for the past 50 years, working hard, trying to raise some kids without screwing it up too bad, trying to live a meaningful life. I guess I've done all right. Took me awhile to get the marriage thing right, finally meeting the love of my life after a couple of misfires. I've definitely out kicked my coverage with Martha.

We have a his and hers family that includes six boys and one girl. Four of the boys and the girl are mine, the other two boys hers. They've given us eight grandchildren (the only thing in life not overrated, right) under 8, evenly split between boys and girls. Here's the funny thing. Three of my boys are triplets and we have triplet grandchildren, but the father of the trip grandchildren isn't one of the triplets. Confused!!! Me, too.

On the non-family side, I graduated from The Citadel after Gables, then got an MBA and a degree in Psych and then spent some time with Uncle Sam. After the service, I went to work for The Miami Herald and spent 15 years with them and sister newspapers in Macon, GA and Charlotte. I must have hit a mid life crisis because at the age of 40 I left a pretty secure and promising corporate job to start a commission only career in the financial services industry. Now 35 years later I'm still at it managing a national sales team for MetLife. I guess I'll retire when I figure out what I want to do.

I guess I lead a pretty boring life...play a little golf, collect wine, play around with the grandkids when I can. My bride's a jewelry and handbag designer so we spend a lot of time in New York and LA. That's kind of fun.

That's pretty much it. I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone at the 50th. It should be a lot of fun.
