retired clergy

I have been retired since 2007. We moved from Columbus, Ga. to St. Simons Island, Ga. for my wife to look after her seriously ill mother (died two years ago) and her 88 year old father. Amy was raised in the Golden Isles so it was a logical move. She is still working as a drama/music teacher at Frederica Academy on the island as well as the church organist at the St. Simons Presbyterian Church. I am substitute preaching, relaxing, reading, and fishing.

We have three sons: Lanny (Arthur, Jr.)who is on disability insurance, and he is married (Susan Rester) with three children - Wesley (16), Ami (12), and Mackenzie (5.) The second son (Matthew) lives in Athens, Ga. with his wife Natalie, a five year old daughter - Abigale, and a 3 year old son - Jimmy. Matt is scheduled to receive his Ph.D. in Public Administration in May, 2012. The youngest son is still single, lives in Columbus, Ga., and is the Production Engineer/Lighting & Sound designer for the Springer Opera House.

I have served churches in Evanston, Illinois; Plymouth, Indiana; Macon, Ga.; Albany, Ga.; Lumpkin, Ga.; and three churches in Columbus, Ga. I have split my time 50/50 between solo pastoring and youth ministry.
